I’m sure some of you have heard about the large storms that produced tornadoes across the south east on 4/27. Unfortunately, I live right in the middle of where the tornadoes hit (I live 10 miles away from Chattanooga, TN). But lucky my friends and family are all unharmed from the storms.

The storms started at 9:00 AM and knocked several trees over and cut power to 90,000 homes in the region. The storms came and went throughout the day with the strongest storms being between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM, which are what is pictured below. The largest storm contained an EF4 tornado with winds reported at 190mph and came within 2-3 miles of my home. These storms have already claimed 76 lives in my region and has destroyed several homes and if you feel like donating a few dollars to help it would be greatly appreciated.

American Red Cross Greater Chattanooga Chapter

Again, any donation will be greatly appreciated by my community and myself. In fact I will give anyone who makes a $10 or higher donation to the Greater Chattanooga Chapter (in the link above) free immediate access to the new version of GMoneyPro. Just email me (support @ gmoneypro.com) proof of your donation and I will setup your GMoneyPro account immediately for free.

Below are some pictures around where I live that some of my friends took of the storm:

Ever since I first created GMoneyPro my goal has been to show people everything I’ve learned about succeeding with Google AdWords and internet marketing. Of course I created GMoneyPro (formally Google Money Pro) several years ago and now the amount of information I can share with people has exceed what can possibly be put into a book or downloadable guide. Because of this I am transitioning the entire GMoneyPro program to a new online learning center which will contain all of the information within GMoneyPro plus details I cannot possibly fit into a book.

Below are some of the main reasons I’ve decided to do this:

People stealing and re-distributing GMoneyPro – This has been a constant problem where people will download GMoneyPro and then will illegally re-sell it using eBay, PayPal, or any other type of payment processor. The major problem with this is that most of the time people are re-selling outdated versions of GMoneyPro, so when the people read it they automatically assume that since I am the author that I sold them an outdated version and am a bad person. How GMoneyPro Online Fixes This – Since all the data is online it makes it much more diffiuclt for people to steal the information and re-sell it online because people will eventaully see that GMoneyPro is not offered as a PDF anymore and they have been sold an illegitimate product.

Outdated Information Issues – Recently Google has been changing their interface and adding/removing features like crazy. Now it’s not a bad thing that Google’s improving their interface, except it means that I have to update all the information within GMoneyPro to represent these changes. Unfortunately, when GMoneyPro is in a book form it means I have to re-write the entire book which can take a month or two. So when the update is released everyone is required to download the new version and find the updated sections. How GMoneyPro Online Fixes This - Since GMoneyPro is now split into sections, I can update each section whenever needed and each person will automatically get the updated information as soon as I hit the “update” button. Plus, on the left side of every page it shows the most recently updated sections so you can quickly see what has been updated and see what changes have been made.

Specific Questions Don’t Get Asked – In the past if you had a question or didn’t fully understand something you had to stop what you were doing and either search for the answer online or email me the question. Then I would get back to you within a day or two with the answer. It takes no genius to see that this is not the best way to get the information you need and can slow down your progress. How GMoneyPro Online Fixes This – Each section in GMoneyPro allows you to make comments and ask questions, plus you are able to rate each comment good or bad. So if you don’t understand something, simply make the comment that you don’t understand it and I will answer the question. Both the comment and the question will be available for everyone to see so if someone else had the same question the chances are they already asked it and it was already answered by me. Plus, if enough people rate a question or comment as “Good” then I will assume that information needs to be included into the article and will add it for future readers.

Knowing What’s Good or Bad – Since I wrote GMoneyPro I cannot say if one article is better than another, I don’t know if something written two days ago is now out of date, and I don’t know if I covered a subject well enough, or if I wrote something that is unclear. In the past I would have to rely on emails to catch these things, but unfortunately whenever I would re-write GMoneyPro I would come across sections where I would see things people didn’t mention. How GMoneyPro Online Fixes This – Each article has a 5 star rating system. This will tell me how well the article is written and will let me know if I need to add more information on that article or fix some unclear points in it. Plus the comments section will also be a way for people to inform me of unclear points or typos that I can quickly fix.

Accessing GMoneyPro – In the past you would only be able to read out GMoneyPro at your computer or print it off onto around 200 pages of paper to carry around with you. So if you had a quick break you really wouldn’t be able to spend the time digging around for it.How GMoneyPro Online Fixes This - Since GMoneyPro is now online you can access it from anywhere with an internet connection. I works on any computer, laptop, or operating system, plus it’s even accessible on smart phones (Android, iPod, Blackberry).

Too Much Information – When I first wrote GMoneyPro it was only 79 pages in length and at that time it included everything you needed to know about Google. Currently if I was to put it into a PDF file it would be over 300 pages in length, which we can all agree is too long to read especially by scrolling down a PDF file. How GMoneyPro Online Fixes This – Since GMoneyPro is now broken off into smaller sections, it’s a lot more easy to read specific parts rather than scrolling through hundreds of pages to find the last part where you left off. Plus, images in a PDF file have to be compressed, re-sized, and adjusted which makes them blurry and hard to read. We can now show full sized crystal clear images plus I can also input some videos directly into the articles so you can better understand what to do.

Beginners and Experts – GMoneyPro contains information valuable to both beginners and experts, but with GMoneyPro being in a book it can be frustrating for people to find the specific sections which caters to their experience levels. The new GMoneyPro allows you to quickly find tips, strategies, and techniques for your specific skill or knowledge levels.

What Will the New GMoneyPro Look Like

I’m trying to keep the new GMoneyPro interface simple and easy to look at. The current design is in beta mode, which means I may add or remove features based on people’s comments (remember I want this to be easy for you to learn), but once I get enough information to get the site working so people enjoy it the most I will remove it from beta mode.

Below is a screenshot of what the current interface looks like with some of the features highlighted in red:

Click for Larger Image

Will I have to Re-Pay to Access GMoneyPro

No, all previous customers will receive full access to the new GMoneyPro for free.

When Will the New GMoneyPro Be Available

I plan to have it available to all current customers by mid to the end of March and for all new customers by the end of March.

Can I Access it Now?

Yes, I am looking for beta testers to help inform me of any issues they’re having with the new online version of GMoneyPro. If you’re interested in helping me iron out the new version of GMoneyPro so it can be better than ever, than please reply to this post and let me know or email me at support@gmoneypro.com. I would prefer it if current GMoneyPro customers would help.

Google's making new changes to how AdWords display URLs work. See what these changes are, how it effects you, and what to do about it.

Google recently announced that they will no longer display capitalized letters in the domains of any text advertisements used in AdWords. This means if you have a long URL like “buybluewidgets.com” you no longer have the benefit of capitalizing the first letter of each word to make it easier for web views to read and remember (ex: BuyBlueWidgets.com).

A lot of advertisers feel this will have a negative effect on their advertising campaigns since this technique has been tested thoroughly in the past with clear results that capitalization in the display URL does indeed increase the click through rates of advertisements.

Why the change? Google most likely comments that the changes will improve overall user satisfaction and compliments the layout of their search engine layout better. Although personally, I would be more willing to bet that the change is because of advertiser abuse, distraction from organic listings, or because they want their sponsored links to match their organic listings more closely.

Tips to Help With the New Change

While you cannot get around this policy, the following tips may give you a helpful work-around:

Although you cannot capitalize your domain, you can capitalize directories and specific pages in the display URL (ex: newegg.com/PrinterCables).

If you have a website and want to advertise it on AdWords, you can purchase a new domain and use hyphens to separate the words in the display URL (ex: new-egg.com).

Use a domain with a short URL and use the directory to explain the page and use caps (ex: negg.com/PrinterCableSales).

Google has updated their AdWords Preview Tool to make it easier to understand as well as giving you the exact advertisement that’s being displayed. Since I participate in various AdWords forums I am aware that a lot of people are not using this valuable tool! So this article will tell you the best way to use it.

Just in case you don’t know what the AdWords Preview Tool is, it allows you to view your text ads as they would appear on Google, but it will not apply the impressions towards your account. This way searching for your ad will not result in decreased CTRs from your impressions.

Choose the proper Google domain. If you’re advertising in the UK choose .co.uk, in USA choose .com, in Australia choose .au, etc.

Target the appropriate language. This is pretty self explanatory with a small catch. If you choose English, Google will only display the ads written in English for that location. So if you’re wondering why France isn’t displaying any advertisements in French, it’s probably because your language is set to English.

Select the location you’re promoting your ads in. Google will only check the location you specify for your ads. So if you live in the USA but are advertising in Canada, by default Google will have United States selected so you will need to change it to Canada. You can also specify specific coordinates if you’re advertising your product in a very specific area (such as a neighborhood or city block).

Finally, choose your proper device. If you’re advertising an App for an iPhone to all iPhones then you will want to specify this so Google will only show you the ads that iPhones see.

When you have the proper settings all thats left is to enter the search term you’re wanting to see you ad and view the results.

You will notice that Google will tell you if your ad is appearing in the search results or not. This way you don’t have to go several pages back to see if your ad is visible.

Ok, first I’m going to apologize about the repeated delay in releasing the updated GMoneyPro.

You see, Google has dramatically change a lot of foreground settings (appearance, tools, etc.) as well as background settings (the way things work) since I first started the update. Anyway, I feel that Google has stopped making these changes and it is safe for me to release the updated version of GMoneyPro without it having sections in it that are no longer valid.

This new version of GMoneyPro is completely updated! Basically, I’ve sat down and re-wrote the entire thing, so there are massive changes to the everything within the guide. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised at how easy I’ve made some of these strategies. If you can follow these step by step instructions you won’t have anything else than success (or at least that’s how I feel). Not only have I re-written the entire program, but I’ve also spent countless hours in the AdWords forums seeing what others are having trouble with and have worked in the solutions to their issues into the new strategies.

Anyway, the new GMoneyPro will also have a lot more content then the old versions. I’m still working on it and will be finished with it soon, but as of now the table of contents section is 4 pages long (so yeah there’s going to be a lot more information). When GMoneyPro is released it will be without doubt the most comprehensive up-to-date detailed guide on Google AdWords available. So don’t miss out on this. And as always, if you’ve ever purchased GMoneyPro in the past (even if you purchased it over 3 years ago when it was Google Money Pro), you will get this new version absolutely free.

I’ve always known that Google has an official AdWords forum, and I wanted to use it a year or so ago, but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to get Google to display my AdWords Advertising Professional status beneath my username…which was frustrating because they did this for other posters. So I gave up with the idea and ignored the forum.

Anyway earlier this month I noticed that they stopped labeling people as “Advertising Professionals” and have gone strictly to an experience level program. Everyone starts off at level 1, but the more information you share and the more questions you answer, the higher your level becomes. This has intrigued me because, as you can imagine, your AdWords experience is generally reflected by your experience level. Everyone starts off at Level 1, and you can advance all the way to Level 20 and if your answers are helpful enough you become considered as a “Top Contributor”.

And since I have a guide out on how to achieve success with AdWords, it’s not very professional of me to go around with an experience level of 1. So I’m seeing if I can get to Level 6 by New Years. To make this more interesting, I’m going to make a bet that if I cannot get to level 6 experience by New Years, I’ll give anyone who brings this up a free copy of GMoneyPro (until I reach level 6). So if New Years comes around and I’m not level 6, email me and I’ll send you a free version of GMoneyPro. If you already have GMoneyPro, let me know and I’ll send you something else (like a free chat session with myself).

I’m currently at Level 4, so you may be thinking I’ll reach Level 6 in no time…but it takes as much effort to go from level 4 to level 5 as it did for me to go from level 1 to level 4! And getting to level 6 requires even more effort!

So keep up with my status by going to: http://www.google.com/support/forum/user?hl=en&userid=17161904065540865260

Wish me luck

To become Individually Qualified, you must:

Pass an AdWords Fundamentals exam with at least a score of 85% or higher

Pass an Advanced advertising exam (there are three you can choose from) with a score of at least 80%, 75%, or 70% or higher depending on the exam you take.

To become a Google Certified Partner you must:

Be Individually Qualified

Spend at least $10,000 or more in advertising on AdWords over the past 90 days

So, now that these new rules are in place, I am now considered a Google Certified Partner. For those of you who are wondering, I scored a 94% and a 90% on the exams I took.

Here’s the new logo they gave me:

If you woke up today to find that 90% of your keywords dropped in quality score from 7-10/10 to 3-5/10, don’t start adjusting your account! This is being reported by many adword users as a “bug” and has effected nearly every adwords account. So for those of you who haven’t deleted everything and swore revenge on Google (yet), leave your account alone and let Google fix the issue.

I’ve been working in AdWords a lot more than usual over the past few weeks and it seems like I’m learning new things just about every day. I apologize that I don’t yet have the updated version of GMoneyPro, but thanks to Google updating their interface repeatedly over the past weeks and the rate of new things I’m discovering (which cannot be found anywhere else online) it’s taken me longer than usual to complete the update.

Don’t worry though, because it is well worth the wait. I wanted to post a picture of a new strategy I just stumbled upon which has dramatically increased my Click Through Rates for the search network. Take a look at the picture below to see an average CTR of 29.70% for a particular AdGroup and a keyword with an amazing CTR of 57.14%! And no, this image is not photoshopped.

You may need to click on the picture to see the full size. Anyway, I’ll be sure to include this strategy in the new updated version of GMoneyPro which I am diligently working on.

I’ve been receiving a lot of emails about Google’s new Instant Search feature that’s been rolled out recently. Most people have been concerned about how this will effect their internet marketing efforts on Google because instant search quickly refreshes the search results after each word (sometime each letter) people type into Google’s search bar. Below are the details on the instant search and how it effects your account:

People’s Concerns

Instant search will display their advertisement one or more times when some of the search query matches their keywords, but the searcher really isn’t looking for their product (example, you’re advertising a dog training product using the keyword “best dog training”, your ad would flash on the searcher’s screen if they typed in “best dog” even if they were planning on searching for “best dog food”).

The increase in impressions will decrease your CTR which in turn will hurt your quality scores.

People will stop using Google because they are not use to this feature.

Details About Instant Search

1. Google created instant on so your impressions will only be counted in the following circumstances:

The user clicks off of the search bar

The user hits “Enter” or “Return” on their keyboard

The user stops typing for 3 seconds (on complex searches Google requires the user to hit enter or click on a result)

2. The increase in impressions will effect every advertiser on Google, not just you, so I’m sure Google will take these into effect seeing as how (if your CTR is negatively effected by the change) every advertiser’s CTR would be effected.

3. Google did this so people would continue using their search engine. They always strive to find bizarre and unique ways to keep people coming back to Google (Google Books, Google Earth, etc.). You can easily turn instant on Off by clicking on it next to your search bar, and i’m sure Google is tracking how many people disable it. If enough people disable it, then it will be disabled by default and would require you to manually enable it. So I guess what I’m saying about this point is, Google would be the first to notice if it was negatively effecting their popularity, and if that became the case you would know because instant on would be turned off by default. So as long as it’s on, it’s helping to keep/increase their popularity.

As far as internet marketing goes. I wouldn’t be concerned with how this effects your account. Any negative effects you notice from this will be noticed across 99% of all the other AdWord accounts in which case Google wouldn’t penalize you for their changes.
